Q: If you disliked or found something you read very boring, explain why?
In the story, I noticed that some parts left me uninterested as it seemed very repetitive or didn't build towards a hyped climax. Although I did find the concept of the story as looking onto the natural history of bees or often neglected small creatures quite interesting at first, I gradually became bored of reading about how maps of wasps and bees are created and the idea of sitting in their perspectives as a member of such colonies. Further more, the story is focused on describing the labor intensive lifestyles' bees and wasps and following the actions of the villagers native to the creatures. Personally, I found that everything didn't make me feel any strong emotion or create a big enough reaction to excite, haunt or make me wonder of what would happen next as it just carried on talking about the foundress, the provision of food over the seasons and just general commonly known actions of bees/wasps. The view on the world by these creatures wasn't really described in a more creative way with a wider variation of terms to give more detailed descriptions of their expressions or mental and physical state but rather the setting was described thorougher. In addition to this, it made me believe that the author's style towards creating a fascination with setting moved away from the initial focus on the bees and wasps which ultimately didn't suit my expectations. All in all, the lack of new information or intensifying tension made me unsatisfied with the reading experience as no new ideas or information came to me and the author could have had a more mysterious or unusual approach to describing the purpose and perspective of small beings.
