In this unit, we will be exploring approaches to creative writing, focusing on purpose, point of view and audience imperatives. I think that this unit will be similar to the previous unit as both surround how an author delivers their specific purpose. During class, we have already learnt a basic outline of different stylistic features in narratives, such as diction or syntax. Due to this I hope to extend my knowledge and apply this to find out how given messages change for a certain audience in descriptive text instead, possibly evident in the type of language utilised by the author. Aside this, I am quite unsure of the differences between a descriptive, and narrative text but it could possibly refer to how ideas and environments are depicted in a certain perspective For the formative assessment, an oral commentary, I think that it'll require a thorough reading and analysation of my chosen novel. In order to present my explanations and evidence clearly, I would have to prepare in an organised and well-planned manner which could be a lot of pressure to do. However, in the previous MYP project, I had to apply similar skills of self-management and leading discussions independently.
