WORDS AS WEAPONS
I think that words can be used as weapons because certain words can act as an attack and defence for some people to make an impact on others emotionally in some situations. Experiencing mental pain is more severe rather than physical pain as being called or told names that have negative intentions is something which can be embedded in someone's thought forever. Along with this, it can depend on how sensitive the individual both receiving and sending these words. In contrast, falling over or having physical pain can be easily healed over time which can have its results seen and felt. For example, a child being called a 'failure' by their parents due to receiving low grades in school can hold on to this title in their memory and it can lead to him/her causing further action to avoid or ignore being a burden. This includes having mental disorders or considering suicide. Ultimately, this concept has to be taken seriously because negative words can change someone's way of thought process and allocate ideas on specific people which effects their interaction in different environments (school, home, public areas). Aside this, it can also have a negative impact on the person saying such insults or harsh criticism because its consequences causes them to rethink their language.
